I am well aware that today is a huge love-fest for Bob Dylan all over the internet, TV and music but I figured I’d put a word in.

In my opinion Dylan is one of the most incredible human beings that has ever lived. It’s mind boggling that someone can be so well spoken and can make mass amounts of brilliant art for the world to enjoy. The way he thinks is unlike any other human being.

It’s funny, how connected you can feel to someone and how big an impact they can have on your life without even really being part of your life. Bob Dylan is to me what an imaginary friend is to a child and he manifests himself through music and writing. I cannot fathom the effect that the wisdom of this man has had on my life.

Happy 70th birthday Bob Dylan, you beautiful person. Thanks for being a guiding light and a source of wisdom. Most of all though, I’m waiting on those 6 books, so get writing before you can’t write anymore.

Now off I go, to finish my day with Positively 4th Street on repeat, washing the bitterness out of my system.

Arcade Fire Wins Album of the Year?!

“I feel like we robbed a bank in front of everybody.” Arcade Fire says regarding their win at the Grammy’s. No doubt a surprise to all, this win was definitely a redemption of the Grammy’s in mine (and may other people’s) eyes.

The Grammy’s usually make me want to gouge me eyes out because they are so dreadful and are a celebration of the complete crap that the general public lets seep into their everyday lives. Want an example of garbage infiltrating our lives? Go watch an episode of Jersey Shore.

With all this nonsense surrounding us, The Suburbs, the newest album put out by Arcade Fire winning Album of the Year against Lady Gaga, Eminem and Katy Perry is a flicker of hope in the entertainment industry. It is a spectacular album and deserved the win. So glad that this celebration of who’s famous finally realizing what good music is. Kudos to the Grammy committee and Arcade Fire.

The joined performance by Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers & my greatest hero Bob Dylan also brought a much welcome change of pace to the awards and was greatly appreciated! Give it a watch/listen if you have some time: http://tinyurl.com/4qlevyn
